Discover how fabric and thread can be used to tell stories in this immersive hands on embroidery workshop.
Storytelling Through Stitch is a full day class exploring hand stitch and appliqué techniques to help you translate ideas, memories and imagery into expressive textile artworks.
Guided through a range of simple yet effective stitching methods, you’ll learn how to draw with thread, layer fabric and build a narrative through texture and colour. We provide a set of easy to use templates for appliqué patches, stitch outlines and samplers to spark inspiration and support your creative journey. Whether you’re new to embroidery or looking to expand your practice, this workshop is designed to be relaxed, encouraging and creatively fulfilling.
By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a finished, one of a kind artwork and the confidence to continue exploring stitch as a storytelling technique.

Feel free to bring along any favourite fabrics or threads you’d like to incorporate into your work.
This is a one-day workshop with a break for lunch. Please bring your own lunch as we do not have a cafe on site. Tea, coffee and homemade cake will be available throughout the day.
