Storytelling Through Stitch is a full day class exploring hand stitch and appliqué techniques to help you translate ideas, memories and imagery into expressive textile artworks.
Taught by Royal College of Art trained embroiderer Lisa Vaughan, you will be guided through a range of simple yet effective stitching methods. You’ll learn how to draw with thread, use appliqué techniques and build a narrative to your storytelling through line and colour.
We provide a set of easy to use templates for appliqué patches, stitch outlines and show you samplers to spark inspiration and support your creative journey. Whether you’re new to embroidery or looking to expand your practice, this workshop is designed to be relaxed, encouraging and creatively fulfilling.
By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a finished, one of a kind artwork and the confidence to continue exploring stitch as a storytelling technique.
